Fun times. Connor is crashed next to me in a very large queen sized bed. He is snoring softly(or should I say rather loudly) and I'm sure he will be exhausted by the end of all of this. We arrived today with a flurry of excitement. Our first Canadian conference. It is awesome to see so many faces and realize just how amazing this community is. We arrived late to the hotel, picked our seats for the banquet, registered for the conference, walked to McD's for dinner, threw on our swimsuits and headed down to the pool. Familiar faces and lots of new ones. We swam and chatted. Introduced ourselves and enjoyed some conversations. We wandered the lobby until he got tired and said he just wanted to watch a little TV and go to bed. He ate his snack, Skyped with his Daddy and Grandparents and then fell asleep almost immediately.
I find it's bittersweet to be here. As I posted before, I had dreams of Connor and Rhys coming to these events together, sharing in those adventures. To be honest, of Deena and I bringing the boys together.
I'm sad.
In other (happier) news our house has sold today and has a sticker on the sign. The subjects were removed and it's official. We have a bit of stuff to do before we close the deal ( a few maintenance issues) but it's done and we can move forward with the purchase of our "other" house. Next week is our "new" home inspection and we will try the drive out to Cloverdale yet again after work. It's nice to practice it and come up with ideas on how to shorten the time up. I'm looking forward to taking some other photos and coming up with ideas for all the rooms. My dad is excited to have his own room. Even if I told him there is no way it can fit a king sized bed and he isn't having the only room that can fit that sized bed. The master! John's not looking forward to painting again. Didn't we just spend a month doing that? But the kids rooms will need a fresh coat and I'm not to keen on red walls in my bedroom. I'm hoping to get summer school in Surrey so I can pay for some radiant heated floor in the scrapbook room. It's a bare bones room but I have a few very talented designer friends who might be able to help me out.
Well...I'm off to get some sleep. I'm sure the minute Connor's eye's are open in the morning he will be wanting to head out the door and join in the excitement of the day.
