Family Time in the Park

Yesterday was spent at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody.  It was our second Annual LPBC Birthday Bash in the Park and it was a huge success.  With about 60 attendees, we took up a good portion of the park.  Members enjoyed a feast fit for royalty, a parrot show, a pinata, swimming, sports, the water park and play ground and some good conversation.  My son was pretty jazzed to meet one of the new members and has since professed his love and devotion ( as only a six year old boy can do).  Sorry D, I think you have been replaced.  I was sitting down more then usual as I sprained my ankle the night before.  It is truly amazing how it all comes together.  We are looking forward to planning the Pumpkin Patch and the annual Holiday Gathering. 
It's been a pretty busy weekend and the lead up to school is about to start.  This is the first year that I won't be going into the school to set up my classroom early...(SHOCKING).  I'm going to do it on the first day!  I'll photocopy and get ready on the FIRST day...wow.  Ask me next Monday night if this was a good idea.  I've been at this for 15 years now.  Every year is different and every year has its own pros and cons.  Usually we don't see our class lists until that very first day ( we ooh and ahh, complain and brag), but this year I checked early with the new system and I don't think it was a good thing.  Wish those students good luck! Some will be so very happy to see me in the front of the classroom and others...not so much.
