It's Wednesday. The day that indicates the week is half over. For the past 9 years we have had swimming every Wednesday at Aquaventures at 5th and Fir ( Near the heart of Vancouver). It started with when the oldest was 6 months old and we lived in Richmond. Then we added C into the mix and finally Miss A. It is an amazing program. All three of my kids love the water and enjoy their lessons. A is almost done and is in the "gold" or the last level that they offer.
Over the past year, I have grown to dislike swimming Wednesdays. John and I take turns (we alternate who goes to swimming and who gets some SOMA time). We pick the kids up from daycare and take them down for swimming. A has class from 5:00 to 5:45 and C and Miss A have class from 6:15 to 6:45 pm. We pick up dinner and eat it up in the viewing area while A is swimming. We get home around 7:40 pm. It's a freakin long day... and I'm whining. I enjoyed the summer of no swimming Wednesdays. So why do we do this you might ask? Aren't there swimming programs out near where you live? Something? Anything?. I have suggested we might want to switch. But once you're in it's like a family and who can leave their family? They have watched A grow and C. C had the same teacher for three years. They love him there. They make me comfortable there. It's like an old pair of slipper. Warm and fuzzy. So for now we continue and next week it will be my turn for a little SOMA therapy ( and I think my foot could really use it).
