toothpicks

this morning I'm draggin my @#$.  Toothpicks would be great to keep my eyes open.  Yesterday was a long day.  It was meet the teacher night at the kids school and then it was meet the "creature" night here at our school.  John and I did best out of three rock, paper, scissors to see who would drive the kids home, wait for the baby sitter and then drive back into Richmond and who would meet the kids teachers.  He won and off he went home with the kids.  I headed over to the school and introduced myself to the new VP.  Met A's new teacher ( she seemed great...structured).  Walked down the school to meet Mr. C's new teacher and introduced myself.  She seems ok...judgement is still out for me given the huge shoes she has to fill from last year.
Headed out to Whitespot for dinner with some colleagues and then back to school to wait for all the parents of my students.  It was full on...OMG.  This is what it must feel like to be famous and swarmed ( Like Cody Simpson).  I almost pushed one parent away and said "personal Space"...hula hoop!  We did things a bit different this year for the format.  And although I loved the idea, we will need to tweak it for next year.  Had a former student and her Dad come and thank me which was nice ( her sister is now in the school).  She is now in her third year at UBC taking life sciences and I am very proud of her.
We got home about 9:15 last night and I felt like I had run a marathon...if one could run a marathon with a boot cast.  TGIF
