Happy Mother's Day
My Mom is an amazing woman. I don't tell her that enough. She loves me unconditionally and I love her with all my heart. We are very much alike and I can see why we butted heads when I was a teenager. We are now very close and I'm grateful for that closeness. She misses her mom and so do I. It's especially hard not to be with your mom on Mother's day. She stopped by briefly today on her way home to Powell River but it didn't feel like enough time. In past years we would invite them down to the city for Mother's day. Mom would always thank us for the invite but say " I'm going to spend Mother's day with Nanie...you never know how many I have left with her". I took those words for granted, thinking my grandmother would be around forever. I'm glad that my mom took the time to spend those last few mother's day with her mom. I would love to spend tomorrow with my mom but instead will have to be content to skype and say "Happy Mother's Day" and I love you.
