Today we got Connor's final report card for Kindergarten. I cried when I read it and then cried again when I was reading it to my folks over Skype. Her words were truly touching.
"Connor my friend, I am very sad that our time together has come to an end. You have come a very long way this year and I am very proud of you for never giving up. You have overcome many obstacles and you should be very proud of yourself. You have worked so hard to become independent and do most things yourself. You have made many friends but more importantly you have learned how to be a friend. I love your smile and tenacious nature. Believe it or not I am going to miss the thousand and one questions that you have for us each day.
Connor, I want you to know that I have loved being your teacher. I also want to give you a little advice for grade 1: be on time for school everyday, listen carefully to instructions, do what is asked of you the first time, asks lots of questions, always put your hand up when you want to be heard and most of all never lose your fun loving spirit. Follow your dreams and remember beyond a shadow of a doubt you have a great deal to offer this crazy world that we live in. You told me that you want to be a doctor so you can help other little people. There is no doubt in my mind that if that is what you truly aspire to be, you will be an outstanding doctor. Thank you for sharing Connor with us this year. It has been a privilege and an honor to have been his teacher. Have an awesome summer!"
Miss Tobin has made this year for Connor an amazing one. Thank you Miss Tobin. He was blessed to have her as his kindergarten teacher. I was so terribly worried that it would be a difficult year for him...maybe it was more about it being a difficult year for Mommy.
