BC Ferries

BC Ferries and I have a hate/hate relationship.  Having grown up on a small Island off the coast of BC, I lived with Ferries all my life.  I had to commute to school on one (only grade 8 and then we moved to Powell River).  I've spent a lot of time on them over the years and my kids are use to them after their many trips to Powell River to see my folks.  Tomorrow night I will make the "run for the Ferry" after work.  It is so unpredictable in the summer months.  Will I make it on?  Will it be on time so that I can catch the connecting ferry on the other end?  Which one will I catch?  What time will I roll into PR?  Who knows.  The good news is that I will be alone.  We have learned to travel the ferries well with the kids.  DVD players, back up battery pack, coolatron with lunch, snacks, dinner (the entire fridge...ferry prices break the bank), blankets, pillows, toys and stuffies.  We opened our van one time in the ferry line up and a person in the car next to us said "WOW, you have everything you need".  My response " this isn't our first rodeo".  You never know when their might be a overload or a breakdown.  Even a "hard" landing that will damage a dock.  As a family we usually don't travel anymore without reservations.  But for me, I don't really know which one I'll catch from the journey from Whiterock so I didn't bother.   Here's hoping it's not insane! The good news is that the major terminals now have WIFI!  Yahoo!
