Houston we have PANTS ON! Mr. C has short arms and short legs and a bit of a booty. Getting his pants over his booty has been a challenge. It takes time and effort. It takes a huge amount of patience not to just do it for him ( heck it would say me valuable minutes in the morning). I've been putting out his clothes and telling him to get ready while I leave to get the littlest one dressed in the morning. I've been firm in that I say "I'm busy and you need to help me out and get dressed"...I've also use the "you are 6 and you need to be able to dress yourself"...I've also had bad mommy moments when I have used " Your baby sister can get dressed on her own now...you need to suck it up and just DO IT". So for two days in a row he has done it himself. Reaching his socks are still difficult but he has managed to put on one sock out of two...awesome! I'm so excited to be at this point. I have felt that we would never get here....we still have a few kinks to work out but we are almost at the point where he can be fully independent! Good Times!
