Boxing Day

twas the night before Christmas and all though the house
one excited little boy could be heard shouting "Feliz Navidad"
but as time went on his enthusiasm wained and
he started to turn white and very quickly fade.
As the bucket was brought in to capture the puke,
not fast enough, as it covered dad's shoes.
We thought it was done, a one shot deal
but that red bucket got used a very great deal,
He finally crashed, worried about Christmas day,
How would he open his gifts, what if he was too sick to play.
A second bucket was brought out for the youngest one,
coughing so hard SHE could get puking done.
Crying and whiny, cold and not well.
She spent much of her time sleeping  and whimpering as well.
the nights, were quite bumpy and rocky to say
Mom and Dad's sleep was kept at bay.
After two nights of a Cranky, puky, little Crab,
It was a trip to CR hospital with an equally Crankier Dad .
Antibiotics and rest were prescribed
so home to sleep in our very own beds is advised.

So these nights after Christmas, the family will jump
back on a ferry boat, loaded down with wonderful treasures?
And heading home we will go to each of our own beds.
Sleep and rest, just what the doctor said.
