cookies, cookies here I come

In my head I'm singing "Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens....".  In the fridge is a whole bunch of cookie dough ready to be baked into great, delicious cookies.  I've got all the stuff to make my favorite Orange Blondie (recipe).  I tweak it a bit and just make an orange buttercream icing instead of the cream cheese one it calls for.  I make it in a 9x13 pan and then cut it into one inch squares in tiny paper cups and freeze.  When I started this blog, I thought I would blog a lot more about baking.  I love to do it.  It hasn't turned out that way but maybe over the holidays I can add a few more posts about things like duffies and marshmallow peanut butter squares.  Instead it's turned into more of a family blog.  I have to say that one of the first Christmas cards we got this year had their family blog written on the bottom of the card and I LOVED that idea....maybe next year ( You rock Melissa).
Someone on staff at my work bought us a new blow up decoration.  That was so lovely.  The kids can't wait to put it up.  We think we'll put any new blow ups in the back yard where they will hopefully be safe.  We'll look for some boxing day deals and see if we can't find another one for next year.  It may take us some time to replace the old ones but hopefully we'll be able to make new memories back with new ones ( can't say that we haven't been driving around looking for the old ones...).
