Duffies, a jam filled sweet pastry topped with butter cream
icing. They are a very rare treat that only appears during the holidays. Maids of Honor is another holiday treat, pie pastry crust with jam on the bottom,
filled with vanilla cake and topped with butter cream.
Butter Tarts, pie pastry crust filled with raisins, eggs,
brown sugar and vanilla. These are Grandpa's Favourite. My Nanie use to make them in payment for odd jobs that my Dad would do for her. I made them the other night with pastry that I made myself ( a rare occurrence)
Marshmallow Butterscotch Bar, peanut butter, butterscotch
chips, butter and marshmallows all mixed together is a favourite of my hubby and the kids. Super easy and the oldest made some herself this year.
There are so many treats that I could make but so little time to make them. Maybe I'll start a new tradition called "Summer Baking"...
